Do they have leashes for chins?
would like to know how to sex chinchillas properly
We've had our little chin for about a year. Her name is Pepper and she's supposed to be dark beige though she looks pretty grey to us. we're thinking of getting another soon.
What a wonderful site to find! We have Just had our chins for one day!! We visited on
line first for all the info., before we made the all important decision. We now have info
on history, characteristics, feeding, housing, health care..... etc. The pics we viewed were m
marvelous!! Obviously, these little ones are loved and well cared for! Some of those
photos should win awards! We'll definately visit this site often, for advise and education.
Also, we can share our experiences with our newest members of our family.

This site is great! I am getting a Chinchilla, and this site taught me things about them I didn't know! And I am getting the Chinchilla through your adds! (probobly) I wanted to thank you for making it so easy to get your dream pet and learning to take care of it. I printed out a lot of pictures from the Picture page, and they are now hanging on my wall. When I get my chinchilla, I will be sure to send you pictures. Thanks again! By the way, I am naaming my chin either Kenya or Serena, (after my middle name)

P.S those are my real anitials. =}
I am about to get my first Chin, It has taken me years to persuade my partner to let me have one - He tried to palm me off with a Furby instead.
Hi, I think that chinchillas are the most adorable creatures I have EVER seen! And I really want one, and I have finally convinced my mom to let me get 2 !! But the problem is finding one close to my home, in St. Petersburg, Florida, I mean it does'nt have to be really close, it can be all the way in Daytona Beach, but I don't know of any breeders in Florida at ALL! And they are not in pet stores, and I just don't know what to do, and I am going crazy, cause want one soooo bad! If Anybody can help me, please E-Mail me at iluvchins@yahoo.com Thank you, and also, ! love your web site, it has gotten me prepared for a chinchilla, and it is very informative!
CHINCHILLAS ROCK!!!!! I got mine about three months ago and he's my best friend. I named him Colin after my favorite hockey player. The only thing I don't like is all the vaccuming I hafta do after he gets back in his cage!:)
I really love my Chili
(and my boyfriend of course!)
chinchilla's rock
we got a chinchilla back in feb. 99' he is a mosaic. he has a personality of his own, and i think it's a strong
blend of my girlfriend and mine's. he is very picky. the first thing he did this morning was wake us up with that
funnynoise that chinny's make. i think it was just to tell us "the sun is coming up, so dont wake me up"!
your site is wonderful and we will send some pictures in soon!
Great site! Which I could have as many as you have... :) I am still fairly new at this, only 8 months into it. I have two 2 year olds, I guess they are
going on 3 yrs now, the owner was moving so I got them. One is beige and the other is Standard Grey. Love them! (Winnie and Piglet) They are
a bit wild at times...don't like to be picked up, or held. And is it normal that they poop ALL the time, and sooo much? I read that they do a lot, but
this is a lot! Doesn't bother me that much, still love them as much. Blah blah...sorry, going on and on...so great site, very helpful and love those
pictures! Keep up the awesome work!
We had an adorable one. She died in '98 and we miss her dearly. We are going to get another one someday, but it will never replace her.
I love your site. Thank you so much
I realy like chinchinchillas and i'm getting one at the end of the month.
We have had our chin for about 4 months now and have lots of questions. Should I get her a companion, if so male or female. How do I even know if she is a female (the pet store wasn't sure)
Can she be litter trained? She is a great pet - would recommend to anyone . very friendly and smart - the kids love her!
I have 10 pairs set up with 7 of those pairs actually producing.
I have been giving the pairs names like Sonny & Cher, Fred & Ethel, Elvis & Priscilla etc. All my stock has been purchased from Valley View chinchilla ranch in S. Cal. Lurlie and Jim are great people!
I'm getting a chin very soon, and information or tips would be VERY helpful! (seems like you all are a knowledgeable bunch!)
I love my Chin very much he is the only friend i have. His name is Chilly.
I have one chinchilla his name is chichi he is VERY friendly and playful
he sleeps all day and is awake all night he is soft and cuddly he
runs VERY fast I have to have help catching him after hes done running around in my room.
I am the proud Mother of a six month old female named Gweneth.

Thank you for your very informative web site! I just bought a chinchilla for the first time for my kids. Since I am allergic to cats and dogs, I was looking for another pet my kids could cuddle. I heard chinchillas were a friendly, cuddly pet that would fit in nicely with my family.
Anyway, I learned a lot from your site and printed out lots of information. I hope to have a happy, healty chin!
I thinking of getting a chinchilla and you web page was very informative.
Nice to meet you!I live in JAPAN,I am 24years old,I have 2chinchillas.Her name is URURU.His name is MOKEMOKE.Your chinchillas picture are very cutte. My husband made chinchilla site.

Thanks to all the chinchilla lovers! Visiting these pages has been a trip down Memory Lane for me. My Dad raised chins in the 1960s and at one time we had over 400 chinchillas. I still love chinchillas and have many great memories of my Dad and his love of chinchillas. Thanks again, Rita
I don't know what to call my chinchilla but here are some of the ideas, Oops, Micro, Burp, Bart, Karma, Kiwi, Ollie, Mouse,
Rodent, Sir.Alfalfa, Stash, Coke, Cola, It, Slurpee, Coffee,
Pato (After the pan american duck), Dude, Budweiser, Marble, Sylvester, Mr. Burns, Smithers or Crunch keep in mind he is going to be a standard Male.
I think chinchillas are the tool of the devil that kill children in there sleep. I also have a theory that chinchillas were created by Nazis in world war 2 to kill the russians
I would put owning a chinchilla for fun is like playing with demons from the bowels of hades
scary stuff but i believe i was a murderous chinchilla in a past life that went by the name of Carnie Bob
New to the world of Chins.
FROM MY LAST VISIT TO RUSSIA I PICK UP SOME GIFTS FOR THE FAMILY AND THERE IT WAS JUST SITTING IN THE SNOW SO CUTE. THEN LATER I FOUND OUT WHAT IT WAS HE IS A VERY RARE FLYING CHIN. HE IS WHITE AND BLACK LIKE SKUNK BUT I LOVE THE HELL OUT OF HIM. I HAD HIM FOR 2 YEARS NOW. I DIDN'T THINK ANY ONE HAD ONE UNTILL I SAW THIS WEB PAGE THANK YOU.
I waNT TO KNOW WHERE i CAN FIND A CHINCHILLA YEAR CALENDAR LIKE THE ONES THEY SELL IN PETSHOPS WITH DOG, CAT, AND EVEN FERRET PICTURES IN THEM FOR EACH MONTH

Angel of Desire The natural colouring of Chinchilla fur is unparalled, a rare beauty of its own. Each single strand of fur provides a triple tone of colour as it emerges from the surface of the skin. The underfur a rich band of deep slate blue is followed by an icy strip of snow white, and for added drama and appeal the surface frosting a bold blue black. This marvellous range of tones is only revealed by movement. The icy strip of snow white buried just beneath the surface, flashes to reflect surrounding colours only as the fur moves with the garment. As the triple toning is briefly revealed, the garment takes on a life of its own. Imitation is impossible. Only Classic Chinchilla can claim such Charisma and Character.

Momma chin's name is wheezer because she peed in my face when I got her I was playing booh! and she would make this laughing sound so I thought she liked it but I soon found out she didn't.
Papa chin's name is muffin he's just a cuddle bunkins.
Baby's name is raisin can you guess why?
I love looking around at all of the Chin materials...It is really hard to find items of interest in stores in my area...I have been actively breeding Chins for 2 years now...I usually have about 2 liters a year....The best thing in the world is a baby Chin!
The childish derogatory message posted below that has my name attached to it was fabricated and added to this guest book by the lunatic fringe of the so called animal rights movement .It`s important that people get an opportunity to witness this because it proves how unstable some of these individuals really are. I`d like to thank Dave from England for illustrating this and exposing to the rest of the world just how disfunctional these groups really are.Any money sent to these groups will never benefit the welfare of wild or domestic animals, it only serves to fuel the fire for these demented souls.
I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE ONE KNOW THAT AS SOON AS OSWALD DIES, HE IS GONNA GO TO HELL- WHICH I HOPE IS SOON!!!!! THAT FUCK RAGE BETTER NOT SHOW HIS SORRY ASS ON HERE AGAIN!
1 thing i have to say! Oswald- GO TO HELL! OK?!
i love this page! i also love chinchillas- expecially mine- Chi-Chi and Phoebe!
i have 2 very sweet and tame chinchillas, their names are Chi-Chi and Phoebe. Chi-Chi is a standard grey male chinchilla and Phoebe is a white mosic female. i just wanted everyone to know about my chinchillas
Love your site and had finally found some reading material about chins that you can't read in the normal books ...
After 1 and a half year my 2 chins gave birth to a third one and i'm very exited about this and now a can see how they grow ..
greetings from a small town somewhere in europe
MY CHINCHILLAS NAMES ARE SAMSON,DELILAH, CHI-CHI AND TWO UNAMED BABIES. THEY ARE 4 VIOLETS AND ONE BEIGE.
hiya! i have 1 pet chinchilla named Casey and i luv him!!! he is the nicest animal and sooo cute!! i really like ur page and can use the info. i wish i could let him mate, but my mom doesnt want him too.. :-( o well...
Chinchillas are good for one thing and one thing only; Killing, skinning and making coats out of. Nothing else.
I think this page is great. I would like to see some more pictures of fur fasino, though. My favorite type of fur is chinchilla and is you visit my web page it gives much information about it and many good pictures. If anyone knows of a site where I may get some good chinchilla pictures then I'd be happy if you could send it to me. Thanks.

In the last 2 years working for a respected fur company (Lazare's Furs) I have been introduced to a wonderful and different side to fashion...Fur Fashion... Thank-you for the interesting informaton about trapping and the history behind it. I recieved a 65 on your quiz..Congradulations on your Website...
I have one male chin named Harvey, I am looking for another male chin to keep him company, am looking for a price range of about 50.00.
Want to breed chins if I can find some to buy:)
Thank you for a wonderful page. it feels great to know that there are more "chin-fans" out there.
I have 3 wonderful chins. Joe is a beige male, Bob is a white male, and Jill is a black female. As soon as Jill is old enough she will be Bob's cage mate. I have built them a special room in my basement, where it is cooler and is chin proofed.
Can anyone tell me the youngest age to breed a femsle chinchilla?
I have to move my chin from Chicago to Florida for school, and I have to take him in the car, does anyone have any reccomendations for the way I should carry him so he doesn't freak out?
Great site ! I love pictures and more pictures. I have one chinchilla named Spirou (on my site you'll find a page about chinchillas and you can vote for your favorite chin color and body part !). Great job... GO ON!
I am the proud new mother of a beautiful 6 month old chin! I just brought him home about an hour ago. I wanted to say THANK YOU so much for all the information on this site and the ones it links to. I've spent hours over the last 2 weeks poring over every bit of chin info I could find. I want Furbles to be as happy as any chin can possibly be. Thanks to sites like this one I know that the pet store owner's advice was mainly wrong and quite possibly spared my chin a lot of suffering. (For example he told me to give him as many raisins as it wanted and to give him a bath max once a week. And he chased Furbles around the cage to catch him too! I nearly had a heart attack!)
I look forward to seeing new chin photos and hopefully sending in one of my own soon!
~Theresa
The pics are wonderful! Makes me want to go out and get more chins! I used to have 3, but had to give 2 of them up due to a disability! However, I would take them back in a second. The one I've kept is called Harpo. She is a 3 year old silver and white mosaic, and very gallus- as we say in Scotland!
My only gripe is, I don't seem to be too clever at getting Harpo hand tame! She will come and sit beside me or on my knee, but will only tolerate me stroking her for a very short time! I'm using all the normal brimes. Any suggestions anyone?
PS. Gallus is a term meaning someone who is very sure of themselves!
The site is great. I have one chin and hes so cute. Looking for one more. Need a female about one year old.Me someone can help me find one.
The site is great.Just wondering if you could help me find a female chin for my male chin. I want one about one year old. My you can help. Thanks for having this site.
:) i love this web site. :)
I WANT TO SAY THANX TO INGRID 4 THE CHINCHILLA GIFTS. I BOUGHT A CHINCHILLA NECKLACE.
I'M WEARING IT RIGHT NOW. :)
bye everyone, sarah, chimi, chi-chi and vato
I really enjoyed Your Site. The Yellow Web and the gift shop are a very good idea. I am building a site right now. There is a sektion in english too - if you go there, please go to "DC 2 Links" and then "Iglsö Chinchilla".
I'm getting a chin in 2 weeks if any body has got any good chin names email me!!!
are there chin owners in Spain? I can´t find any reference in spanish to chins. Answer me.
Haruka Honey H - you are a useless waste of space!!!
RUDY BAUTISTA - IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHINCHILLAS SO MUCH WHY ARE YOU SELLING THEM? I HATE GREEDY SELFISH PEOPLE WHO ALLOW THEIR PETS TO BREED WHEN THERE ARE ALREADY MORE THAN ENOUGH TO GO AROUND - JUST TO SELL THEM ON.
I have had quite a few chinchillas over the years but they always escape and as I live in a built up area probably they got run over or eaten by cats or something. Now I keep lizards. They always escape too. Don't have much luck with animals. Last month my mom got a 6 week old kitten but it curled up to sleep on the door mat and got crushed by the door when I came in. Perhaps I should give up!
I really enjoy watching my chins play at night. I have spent many a night just watching and learning their interactions with one another. I have a white mosaic male named WHODINI the proud father, and the mother, a standard grey with Black Velvet traits HONEY, because she is so sweet. They are the proud parents of SADIE another white MOSAIC, SPEEDY a standard grey and TURBO another standard grey. I would realy wish to find out any information on persons interested in purchasing the to youngest, SPEEDY and TURBO at a reasonable cost to a good home. If interested contact me at the e-mail address printed. I LOVE MY CHINS
I love your web-page!! I wanted a chinchilla so bad so I printed some information and told her all about them and she's going to let me have one.
I will be purchasing s chin in July and need advice.
I have one chin named Flash. She is a wonderful pet...so loving...she cuddles with me all the time. She broke her hind leg when she was with her previous owner due to the owner having the wrong cage for her...anyway, her leg was amputated and I decided to bring her home to my family. I am so glad I did because she is wonderful! And I am amazed at how much info I have found about chins on the net...I never realized just how popular they are to have as pets.
excuse me i meant 2 say they do not live in the usa
oh & i'd like 2 add that OSWALD is obviously lying! #1 chinchillas r from the andes mountains of so. america (esp. peru & brazil). they do live in the wild in the USA where OSWALD says he's from. #2 it takes 250 chinchillas 2 make 1 regular coat, so his 300 could not possibly make 2 large 1's unless he's making children's garments. #3 he say "nothing goes to waste," i assume he feeds all the flesh 2 his dogs, but still that leaves the bones. he can't give those 2 dogs. they're so small even a tiny dog would choke on them, so something is going 2 waste. #4 he's probably lying or a moron since even an infant could tell from the start pg this is a pet site, not a fur site. thank u!
i really like chins & want 1 as a pet. please tell me someone if i'd make a good owner. i'm a homemaker w/ lots of time. i want a pet i can cuddle & carry w/ me. i have a small poodle but i'm sure she wouldn't mind, though i'm not sure if they'd b friends. i have a backroom that stays cool & have air conditioning. should i get a baby? would that b best 2 train 2 b friendly & stuff? thanx! p.s. OSWALD IS A BIG FAT IDIOT! I WISH SOMEONE WOULD SKIN HIM!
HI!
I want everyone to know, that I LOVE MY CHINCHILLA!!!
I really think that this page is greate, but I hate YOU Oswald!!!
You are a piece of shit!!!!!!
I know that everyone should have a job,but personally,yours
is a job from Hell!!!!
And there you belong to!!!
I REALLY would KILL you,if you'd kill my little honey!!!
I'm glad, that you live in USA,so that you can't do no harm
in here!!!!
(No affence to those chinchilla owners, who live in USA,
treate them good, and love them as God loves you!!)
This page is great! I have 2 chinchillas, Chewit and Houdini, I love them so much but I've had them for a year now and they're not getting any tamer. I know it's best to tame them when they're young so does any one have any tips? Thanks a lot!
I think that chinchillas make great pets. That is why I got a second one.
My two Chin's just had four babies. I am looking for additional information about baby care and eventual sale. I would also appreciate any information on showing and bloodline research to legitimize my breeding program. (This is my first litter and I am sure that I have alot to learn). Thank you.
Chincillas make the perfect pet. My husband and I have a male chin named Stokely. He is nearly 10 years old. We have had him since he was 1 month old. He is still very active and has never had a sick day in his life. It is nice to find this site and see so many pepole who hve chins too.
I love your page! It really gave me the information I needed to get started with my first chin.
Just love your web page. Our Abby is our first chin and we were wondering if all chins were as smart as she is. So, I decided to go on the internet to find out. Looks like she is not a "genius" after all - looks more like all the chins are just as absolutely wonderful as she is. Thanks for your wonderful page and the great information and pictures.
Great site ! We might be getting an albino chin on loan, with a view to keeping her ( Holly ). Good to know all the info we need is at our fingertips !
Chins make awesome pets. I never realized how gentle and intelligent they are.
I am interesting in a Chinchilla and my fiance had never seen one, thanks to the pictures he now knows. They are too cute. I have a feeling we will be getting 1 or 2 soon.
Oh, and you also know Oswald's lying because you wouldn't trap a Chinchilla. They probably aren't from around his area. Anybody who knows the basic chin-info would know that.
Oswald is an idiot. After raising my chins, I would guess he couldn't breed them fast enough to be a reliable food source for his dogs. My fat one isn't even two pounds--I'm sure he couldn't satisfy a hungry dog. Obviously he's lying and trying to get your guff. Remember, there are some pretty sick people out there who get their kicks this way. Oswald's probably one of those people that post on Christian fellowship sites posting how Satan and drugs rule.
I would appreciate any information on taming the Chin. We let her run around the house, now all she wants is to be on the floor.
When we got her she had never been on the floor and made no real attempt to jump off your lap or arm of the chair. Any suggestions in how we can get her back to where she wants to sit in your lap.
Thanks.
I want to chat to anyone interested in animals.
I want to chat to anyone interested in animals.
Obviously, every now and then someone slightly stupid gets confused, thinks this is a trapping / fur merchandise site, and leaves an inappropriate message that gets on peoples' nerves.
But it really annoys me when people like David below leave even more offensive messages like the one below. Reading all these messages going back to last summer you will see, David, that most of the visitors are young kids. I, for one, don't want my kids reading about what you think should be done about Oswald. Also I don't want them to read your foul-mouthed language. There's enough of that on the internet and it would be nice to keep some things nice I think.
I will be requesting that all the fur messages and sad infantile messages like yours are removed so that we can return to discussing chin welfare and general normality.
Hi to all fellow chinchilla lovers!! I just love chins. They make the greatest pets and I love to watch them bathe. Yeah and I agree that the Oswald fuck below is a piece of shit. We should all hunt him down and kill him like the pig that he is. Anyway keep up the great work on this fantastic site about one of the greatest pets in the world!!! Peace
I went to your prsonal adds and put a wanted add in wihin a week I got a replie and I got a real deal on a chin.! If I didn't get a replie I would have to pay over $150.00 for the chin. and suplies! Thanks
I really enjoyed your web page on chinchillas!
as i was saying, i think oswald below is a piece of shit. it has been documented that serial killers started off thier "past times" killing and torturing animals. go figure. on a happier note, chinchillas rule. my Chuck has been the greatest thing to ever happen to me, and his presence in my life makes every day worth living. to Anna below, the best way to get a chin back to his cage is to use either his dust bath or his favorite treat. once he gets used to you, he should go back willingly....keep up the great site!!

Every one that is reading this go to Keyword :Pet of the day
Having a Chinchilla is GREAT! They are clean, fun, and the best pets to have.
I think chinchillas are really kind, sweet, loving and extremley cute!
I have to do a report on a animal for my class, so i chose a chinchilla.
I wanted to thank you for making this Chinchilla Page. If you wouldn't
of made this page i wouldn't know anything on chinchillas. This page is
helping me learn about chinchillas. It is also helping my grade! So I
just wanted to thank you for helping me!!!!! gotta go bye!
( P.S. i think those chinchillas on the web page are really cute! )
Your web sure tought me alot about chins and i know i will return once i just got a chin and liked your information about chins.

Keep up the good work!! Huggies, Sophie
I thoroughly enjoyed your website, especially being a fan of chinchillas. Though I never had one because my parents won't let me , I still plan on purchasing one in the near furture, and with the help of the information you have given, i will know what to do. Thank you.
I never thought about owning a chinchilla until my Fiancee brought it up in the petstore we were in. Then we bought little KOBAT that night. I am so glad we did. He is now 6 months old and so cute. Wow!!! What a personality! He loves his routine and he loves when I scratch him. He is our baby. Chinchillas are great pets!!!
If anyone is interested in a basketball size critter ball like a hamster ball to run around the house in look at a Petsmart or a petstore for them.I bought a see-threw purple ball at Petsmart and my chin loves it. He runs around the house all day if I let him. So, check it out.

Your web site is very informative, however, I would like to see the classifieds updated, as they were outdated. You should start an email list, so that when you update something you can email people that have already been at your site and signed your guestlist and should date your updates,so that we know that we are not reading something already read. A pen pal corner with list of emails listed by state would be nice to.
i LOVE CHINCHILLAS THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't realize there were so many chinchilla lovers out there! This is a great site, I've enjoyed reading through it. We have 10 chinchies - assorted colors. They're such precious little animals and we are still so fascinated by them after 9 years of owning them. We have to thank Jim and Lurlie Adams of Valley View Chinchilla Ranch in Vista, California - they have been absolutely wonderful. I have purchased several beautiful chinchies from them over the past years and I have had success with a few litters myself. They've always been there for us and we live in New York and still buy my feed and supplies from them. We look forward to frequenting this site. Good luck with it!
Wonderful page. I learned alot about this cute animal. I just heard of this animal yesterday. Now that I seen pictures, I want one really bad!!! It seems like they are good pets. I had no luck wiht hamsters. Could anyone email me and tell me their experience with them and cost of the animal to buy? I would appreciate any response.
Thanks
Christina
Help, help , help.
I adore my chin, and want to do the best for him, but tonight I let him loose to play for the second time in our life together, and he ran under the freezer and wouldn't come out. I tried to coax him out, and when that didn't work, I tried to grab him out, with no luck (in fact he litterally screamed at me when I tried to get him!)
I've left the room since then, and he has been barking out for the past fifteen minutes. Acording to the books I've read, once you've lost a chinchilla's trust, they'll never forgive you. I'm worried my pet will never like me again, and I'm worried that this is an animal that I can't seem to control outside of it's cage.
By the time you read this, I'm sure I'll have managed to get him back into the cage, but
a.) How can I get his trust back -- if ever.
b.) How can I excersize him without loosing him (he doesn't like the hamster wheel).
c.) How can I do things better?
d.) What am I doing wrong?
If you could write me back with some answers, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Anna

this page is very cool! I enjoyed reading it!
I'm twelve years old and I got on for my birth day they are great pet and softer than I ever imagined. I'm sure glad I did a lot of research on them before I got it. The internet is a great places to get tips that save your money and time.
Someone with the email adress 'EWest47751@aol.com' sent me response to my posting. I would like to reply, but the adress is wrong. Please give me your right adress.
Thought I would post this reply to the query about Milo below, which I have mailed to his owner:
Your Chinchilla needs a companion. I've been keeping them for years now and one thing I've definitely noticed is that they enjoy life a lot more when paired. I would recommend getting a young female and suggest that you have Milo neutered. If you can't get him a partner here are some hints for perking him up: specialised liquid Chinchilla food supplement dropped onto food - height as opposed to width considered for cage with plenty of perches - somewhere enclosed where he cannot be seen (a wooden box with entrance away from view) - hay or straw - dust bath only put in cage for an hour a day so he views it as a treat - peace and quiet during the morning and early afternoon - at least 20 minutes of freedom from the cage a day .....Good luck!

I have one chinchilla, Milo. I think he was the runt of the family. He was born last may in a cage in our science room. His parents are dead, and his only sibling, speedy has changed hands frequently. Milo seems uncontented and cranky. I try to spend as much time with him as possible. Any ideas about how to perk up his life?? I want to make him as happy as possible, because I love him so much. Any advice about how to help him or increase his weight? please e-mail me....
I just got 2 1-year old Chinchillas. One female and one male. I was told that the female was pregnant and she was due in May. I am not sure if that is true. If anyone can tell me if there is anyway to tell if she is pregnant I would apprecite it. Thank you! Overall though I am realy enjoying them. They are great animals.
I have just linked up to the Internet and I immediately looked up Chins. I have 2 Chins, a standard grey male named Webster and a beige female named Rosie Petal. They are still both quite young (2 and 1 respectively) and live very happily and comfortably together(more so than me sometimes!). I shall certainly return to this site again. Bye for now.
I am just about to buy a couple of young (under 12 months) grey chinchillas and would be interested in how people have managed to get their pets used to them handling them if they bought them around the same age or older. Also, I am a bit worried about how the noise of a tv might upset them.
I have two chinchillas and I need a bigger cage for them. I have lots of beanie babies for sale to get a bigger cage for them. I have Pricess, Maple, Glory, and many others for sale. E-mail me If you want a price list. Thank you
I have a grey chin who loves to run around my house in his, see-threw purple ball the size of a basketball, all day long if he could.
I would really like to find plans on how to build a new cage for my beloved chin, Kramer. My boyfriend bought him for me for Christmas from a family who didn't want him anymore and his cage is in pretty bad shape. Any help would be appreciated!
Brill Web Site Some good Pics
I love chinchillas, and think yours extreamly cute!!!! (Especially Sir Edmund!!)
Just thought I'd say hello since we met at the Nat'l. I'll be in LA for the next month so I'll be
in touch with you by the beginning of summer to be added in your yellow pages and maybe
we could link to each others site? Till then...take care - Pam

I think this page is great. I would like to see some more pictures of fur fasino, though. My favorite type of fur is
chinchilla and if you visit my web page it gives much information about trapping, killing and skinning them and many good pictures. If anyone knows of a site where I may get some more good chinchilla pictures then I'd be happy if you could send it to me. Thanks.
I love chinchillas! I have had mine for almost 8 years now!
I love how cute they are! It really amazes me about how
they can be born already jumping across the cage with their
eyes wide open!
I think it is trés funny you like to keep Chincilla as your pets. My family before we move to Paris we eat the chinchilla as a delicacy . The meat is a how do I say taste you acquire? It is very hard and dark. It tastes like duck. When I return home this year I send the photos of the cooking chincillas for your site. Well done for good information site.
Neat site, will try to send pictures of my chins soon.
Great page! If I could I would get a chin but my parents don't think it is such a hot idea.
Hamsters are not great pets but chinchillas are great ones!
Can you teach chins tricks?
I think that this is a great web site. I was wongering if there is any way to tell about how old a chin is. Thank you
i found that your web-site havs some good info.
I am looking to bring a chin back into my family. Gender/age/color unimportant. I love them all. I previously owned a standard grey male, "Chilly Willy". He passed away suddenly at the age of 6 yrs. I will provide a loving home w/ lots of vet care. If you are in the immediate area, please email me w/ purchase/adoption info. I prefer not to pay over $75.
Great website. I have 2 Chins 1female black velvet 2yrs old and a new male grey 4mos old. They are in a separated cage now and seem to be getting along fine, I am hoping to mate them in the future. Anyone who knows why I should not mate them because of their age please e-mail me why. These are the neatest pets I have had, I also have 1 African grey parrot and an Akita husky.
I really enjoy all of your pictures and hope to see mine here too someday. Have fun Chinning around.

I like the look of chins and they sound nice, too. I am thinking of getting a black velvet one (or more). I have read that they will also get on with my guines pigs well, too, which is nice.
moonchow is our chin he is approx. 10 old. we let him out of his cage to play with our 3 yr. old black lab. They absolutely love each other!!! Today moonchow somehow got his teeth caught in the side of the cage. our 12 yr.old daughter saved him from too much damage thank goodness. Moonchow bled a little but seems to be ok so far.I am really glad to find this page.We only have one vet in the area.
Great page. We've had Chinchillas for about 1 1/2 yrs now and we just love them.
well, i don't have any chinchillas but i have always wanted one. As a matter of fact my fascination with them started because my last name is actually chinchilla. I'm just glad to know more people know about these wonderful pets than i thought.
I have one Chin and I was wondering if anyone had a four story cage with tubes connected to it for sale. I am only interested if it is under $175.00
I like your web page but I think you should sell Products for Chins. Joe
We have two chinchillas, Tofu and Claude Hopkins. Tofu is a beige female who is 4 yrs. old, and Claude is a black male who is 9 months old. These two live together in an "apartment," a large cage that is split into two levels. Claude makes a crying sound quite often, yet the two chinchillas are seperate. What do these cries mean? E-mail me if anyone knows. Thanks!
I am doing a project on Chinchilla's because i've always wanted one. i think they are so cute and different. I also like Sugar Gliders, and I wanted to know if there was any connection between the two.
I am in the market for a family of chins. Preferably black ones. Where can I find what I am looking for?
I am thinking about purchasing a chin for my loved pet! I CAN'T DECIDE WHETHER I want a chin or a teddy hamster. They are both sooooo cute!

I like your website very much .
keep up the good works.
I think that chins make great pets and there fur is so soft and pretty. Some people think that they are very visious but they aren't and are very social.

We just recieved our first Chinchilla tonight. We're not sure of the sex of the little guy, but man is he cute. If anyone has any ideas on easy, affordable ways of making a cage please e mail me. Thanks a bunch.
I haven't had Puff for that long but I already adore him! Chinchillas are just the neatest littel critters and boy are they fun to watch! I really enjoyed your web page and i plan to visit it often. Keep up the good work!
I have two chinnies:

Both names are nicknames for Rush Limbaugh.
I'AM LOOKING FOR A FEMALE BABY APPROX 4 TO 6 MONTHS COLOR DOESN'T
MATTER IF ANY KNOWS OF ANYONE.
no comment
Nice pictures. Those different coloured baby chinchillas sure would look great stitched together to make me a nice multi-coloured coat.
I like your site, very informative. My wife and two daughters are fur lovers and chinchillas make great fur coats. We would like to get in contact with other women who own and buy many chinchilla furs. Here in Germany it is sometimes difficult to wear furs on the street.
HI , I AM 13 AN I LOVE CHINS I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT THEM SO E MAIL ME AN TELL ME COOL FACTS
I have one chinchilla, his name is Cheech and provides me with many wonderful hours of entertainment. I am here looking for new ideas for treats, and activities. I have only had Cheech for a month and wondered if you could help be provide him with a happier life. I am nineteen and I find there is nothing I like better than playing with my little critters.
Hi Guys! It's been a long time. Hope things are going well for the two of you. I still have Chili Cheese and Brie in separate cages, but they get conjugal visits on cheese nights out (of the cage) I have watched them groom each other around the face and head like cats, but have never read anything about that behavior. They both seem to enjoy it until the "groomer" gets carried away and uses a tooth...then a little grumbling commences. Another thing I've noticed, Chili will smell a strawberry (for instance) advance on his back legs until he sits on top of it. After a few seconds, he backs off, sniffs the fruit and repeats. A few times later he might actually eat it! Anyone else heard of this!?!
Still waiting for someone to e-mail me about how to tell the age of your chin. The pet store where I bought Zoe wasn't very informed on her sex, let alone her age, so I'm REALLY wanting to know how old she is. Please e-mail me with any tidbit of info. Thanks!
I'm a girl in Belgium (Europe) who owns 5 lovely chins.
I really enjoy surfing on the chinnet.
If you have any addresses in Europe, you can always mail me.
Bye
I am a knew owner of two chinchillas one male grey and one black female. I am very interested in raising chinchilla's, but have no idea where to begin. They are wonderful animals!
Hello!!
I´ve got a black velvet!!His name is CHILI and he´s the sweetest chin of the world.
BYE!!!
I thought this was a great page, though more pictures would be nice.
note: I can't WAIT 'till the kits are born! They will all be heterozygous beige because Geena, my female, is homozygous beige. And billy, the father, is standard gray.

thanks,

Could someone please e-mail me and tell me how to tell how old your chinchilla is? And by the way, I agree whole-heartedly with Dave. Trappers need to leave their self-righteous comments elsewhere.
People like Trish below are as bad as trappers being on this website. Half the people who visit this site are young children so we don't really want your vicious comments or bad language. With all the twisted rubbish on the internet let's keep mellow sites like this sacred eh? Back to the chin-wagging.
If anybody out there would like to give their chins a more regular treat than the risky ones like dried fruit, try Locust Beans. They love them!
Ilove my Woofies(their names are Woofie and Precious Woofie) and would like to breed them.
if i see anybody wearing a chinchilla fur coat in my town, i will KILL you, so you sick bastards better watch your backs when you come to chicago, because i WILL be looking for you...
TO ALL THOSE COWARDLY FUR TRAPPERS: I HAVE A DEVICE I WOULD LIKE TO USE ON ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN. IN FACT, I HAVE IT SET UP FOR ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN BECAUSE I NEED SOME HUMAN FLESH TO WEAR. ANIMALS ARE MORE INNOCENT THAN CHILDREN. I HAVE AN INTENSE HATRED FOR PEOPLE WHO KILL FOR MONEY. DIE!!!!!!!!!
This is a great home page!!!!!
I'm getting a chinchilla tomorrow.(march 8)
I 've heard they're great.....please if any body has any jokes or infomation about thing like breeds and helth please e-mail me!!!!!
Just a little note to tell you how much I appreciate having a web page on chinchilllas. I had a good laugh at all of the
cute pictures and I had a good cry while reading the "In memory" section. I just got my chinchilla about a month ago
and I don't know what I would do without her. She will be four months on March 7, 1999. She is growing so fast.
I would be interested to know anything. My chin is only 6 months old and I am new to this.
Nice Site. If there are any catalogs available please send me one. I need a nice, warm, chinchilla fur for winter!!!
Im very proud to be a Trapper. I have been trapping for 20 years now, with 5 of them being longliner. I went to the Trappers College in LaGrange,Indiana, U.S.A. in the month of Sept. 1998. I graduated with Expert qualities, and have really helped out people in my State of Michigan, and around other states in the U.S. I will be going again this year to hopefully become a Master, or Professional Trapper. This year was fairly good for me, because of my teachers, Mr. Red Edgemon, and Mr. Pete Askins,( owner of Sleepy Creek Trap Company). If anyone would like to ask me anything about Coyote, Fox, Coon, Skunk, Mink, Muskrat,Opposum,etc...I would love to try and solve their question.
Thank you so much for your time, And God Bless you and yours, and all the trappers out in this world of ours.
I have been a Trapper for seventeen years. I have trapped the states of Iowa, Virginia, and Tennesse. It is my love of the outdoors which keeps me going. I am pleased there are still real trappers like myself around. We are far and few between and are on the virge of being extinguished from the United States by uneducated people. Thank You again for your support of the Trade.
This web page provided me with invaluble information that helped me to build a great cage for my new chinchilla Mishka. I had no idea that these animals would make such great pets.
I like Chinchillas and hope to get one soon. If you know where i might get one at a good price please E-mail me.
Adam
Great. Came across my first Chin whilst in the UK a couple of weeks ago. I'd love to have one as a pet but I 'm quite sure that we don't have them over here, their probably regarded as vermin, mores the pity, I am going to do some research however .

i reall like these chinchilla pics
excellent site. I love supplying the fur industry with fur.
I am 18 and have trapped for years and have heard all the anti propaganda. I was in the PETA site earlier and they say 10-15 non target animals are trapped and killed to every one target animal. in 4 years of trapping i have never even caught a single non-target animal.
My husband and i have a 31/2 year old cutie named GIBBLES the "g" pronounced as a "j"). We've had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is the light of our life!! THank you so much for this website, it's truly a gift for chin owners. I didn't realize there were so many other proud chin parents like us!!! I welcome e-mail if you have questions or need advice about your chin. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE WEBSITE!!!!!
Chinchillas are the most interesting pet I have ever owned.
I loved seeing all the pictures and various comments made about chinchillas. I myself have two little munchkins, both of which are completely different to each other. One is big and tame, the other is small and very aggresive, they also both hate each other! But I could never give either away. Thanks again. Donna.....

I love your ranch. My brother and I bought a chin in Oct. 97. His name is Chile. Do you remember us? He is a gray male.
You have great ranch. my brither and I bought a chin in Oct. 97. His name is Chile. Do you remenber us? His is a gray male.
I was wondering if someone who knows alot about chins could post something here for me about how to tell how old your chin is. The pet shop I bought mine from told me she was male when she was really female, so I wouldn't trust them to tell me her real age. Any suggestions?
I have four little rascals, mum, dad and two boys. They are
my best friends always waiting for me when I come home. I let
them out twice a day morning and evening. I was really
impressed with the chin cage - you cant get ones like that
in England. How would I go about getting a couple? anyone
know?
I own 1 female approximately 2 year old chinchilla. Is it possible to introduce a companion? If so, how would I go about it.
I have had a female chin for a month and when I got it form a pet shop it was said to be 8 months old. I think she is older than that. Is it possible to recognize her age knowing only her size, I mean she is not as big as an adult animal and behaves like a baby.

My 9 year old daughter, since seeing a chin in the pet store is smitten... she's great with hampsters and stuff but want's a chin..
so i'm researching.. found your site... thanks a lot a great info.. truely appreciate the time and care, as a web developer, a great
site... thom
Chinchillas are so cute!! I wouldn't think anyone would want to kill an adorable animal like a chinchilla. I don't have a chinchilla yet but, I am getting them soon. I wish people that want to kill the chins should not write in this guest book!!!!
Here in the states, standards run also about 50-60 dollars from a breeder, but in a pet store they run around $100. Of course the more exotic the color, the higher the price. Just last week I saw a website with someone that had a half and half beige and black (I think that was the mix) and they wanted $450!! So I guess they run about the same price!
Good work Gina on your new website. A very good effort.
I was wondering how the prices of Chinchillas in petshops and from breeders compared in the States to in the UK. In Southern England you are looking at about 50 to 60 American Dollars for a standard grey or pink, 80 to 90 for a black one and up to 140 for a white.
White Chinchillas are very rare in England. In fact I've only ever seen about 2. They also seem to be quite a bit bigger than the standard grey ones.
If anyone is interested, I have a site up also, although not Chinchilla-related. It is www.plumdesign.co.uk
Anyone interested I too have made my own chinchilla page,
Please visit at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Fields/4570/chins.html
Thanks for having such a great and informative page about Chins!
I say to any person that is not a Chin lover (but a Coat lover) Try ripping your skin off and having someone else wear it. Then see how much you like it! Chinchillas are beautiful creatures that need to be loved not hunted!
Please leave your comments to yourself and especially not on a page where obviously you are not wanted.
I would like to find every sick person who has left a shameless fur ad on this guest book, and let my chin Zoe attack them. Not that she would, but I wish it could happen. Absolutely disgusting. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose, but it's extremely crude to leave a fur advertisement on a chin-loving guest book. You people amaze me.
I love your chin page. please tell us more about Chin shows in our areas! Thanks! - L.K.M.
I`ll start by saying how much I enjoyed browsing through the chin`s
web page, with having two chin`s called Tazz & Dusty "it realy gets
my back up when DICKHEADS like the thing`s that have totaly trashed
this EXCELLENT Guest Book by leaving STUPID comment`s about the furr-coat","WELL HERE`S WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO TO YOU, I WOULD LIKE TO GET THE BLUNTEST KNIFE I COULD EVER FIND START BY CUTTING
YOU AROUND THE NECK,STANDING ON YOUR HEAD STICK MY FINGERS IN THE
CUT I JUST DID AND PEEL YOUR SKIN OFF YOUR BODY JUST SO YOU CAN EXPERIENCE THE KIND OF PAIN THAT MILLIONS OF CHIN`S GO THROUGH EACH
YEAR"...
I would like to ask if there is anyone with knowledge out there
that knows how to remove INSAIN and OUTRAGEOUS comments from people`s Guest Books, so that when some IDIOT leaves a remark that no-one else wants to read they can remove it freely at will, or send the info to the person who own`s the web page, so he/she can have the pleasure of removing the crap that the IDIOTS leave behind.
Once again thank you for the enjoyment.
All the best,
Steve , Tazz & Dusty.

It was nice to see your homepage and your chins as well as the beautiful juwelery's.
Outstanding website, especially for a new Chinchilla owner like me. Extremely informative. My new chin is an 11 week old male named Caper (to skip about playfully, to frolic - how true of these adorable creatures!) My son & I are very interested in hearing about training techniques, advise, tips, etc. Feel free to share at my email address. Have to admit that I was shocked to see the evil "skin-chin" fur lovers on your guest book. I thought this site was for Chin lovers. It's somewhat upsetting to read their comments. Tell me you don't cater to them. It would be a disapointment not to be able to return to your site!
I am NOT looking for chinchilla fur. Someone else left that message pretending to be me. I have no idea why. Again, I'm not looking for chinchilla fur and I don't have a ladies jacket. I don't own 113 chinchillas either....
am searching for a small amount of Chinchilla fur to finish a ladies jacket. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
very interesting site. I am a fashion designer specializing in the creation of "Northwest Fantasy" specializing in Capes, Coats, Jackets, With a base fabric of wool or denim. I love furs. I like people who wear them.
I love chinchilla fur coats
Thanks to Dave. :) And once again, I urge all you chin fur-hungry sickos to sign guestbooks elsewhere, unless you have something good to say about chinchillas.
I have really enjoyed this site. I am an up and coming fashion designer, who is extremely interested in in chinchilla furs. I would also like to know more information about where to go to buy chinchilla fur (wholesale). Can you please send a catalog along with prices and any other neccessary info.
I would just like to say that i love to trap. I am 14 years old and this is my second year of trapping. I got over 20 beaver some up to 67 lbs. I would just like to say trapping is a fun, exciting, enjoyable sport and for all thoughs trapers out there hope you get them this year
PEOPLE WHO KILL CHINCHILLAS ARE PSYCHOTIC AND NEED TO HAVE THIER HEADS EXAMINED BY A MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL A.S.A.P
Here here, by the way, to Desire. Top Woman
MESSAGE TO TRAPPERS. I've had a great idea for a game that I'm sure you'll enjoy more than your present hobby. Why don't you try trapper trapping as opposed to defenceless animal trapping. Trappers are vermin and clearly need to be culled. Trap yourselves, enjoy it and generally, hopefully, deplete in volume - you sad gits!

I think it's disgusting that fur sellers sign this guest book, because obviously this is a chin-loving page and not a skin-chins-for-fur page. Get a clue, fur sellers.
The chin ads have been very helpful. Glad to see Wisconsin chin lovers on your guest book!
Please inform me of any Chinchilla fur merchandise shows in the States that I can attend and meet the Manufactures and Wholesalers. Please E-mail me a.s.a.p. I would like to attend the next show. I have a retail store and would like to learn more about purchasing furs. Thank You, Pepper Parker P.s. Anyone reading this E-mail please do not write me about animal rights - I'm not interested!
Hi! Very nice site to visit, I came here to find Chinchillas to import to Iceland to be bred for their fur and I hope I found the right breeder here in USA. Again THANKS !!
chins are great i just love the 2 i have
a good site
This is an interesting and helpful page.
I was just checking to see if there were any new messages up, and I laughed when I read Dave from London's suggestion about where fur trappers go when they die. I agree whole-heartedly that they should be subjected to being chased by giant chins! That would teach them! Obviously they've never had one, because they are the sweetest, most entertaining animals in the world!!
I recently bought my first Chinchilla. her name is Pikaboo. I am also writing a paper for my English class, so I was hoping people could send me all kinds of information on Chinchillas, more than just what you can read about in a book.
I LOVE THEM

I really enjoy your website, and check back often. It's nice for owners of the best pet on Earth, to have a site to get together at. Thanks so much!!
If someone wnats to write to a 20-year-old chinchilla owner, please contact me!
If I send a photo of my chin to go in that watch does it have to be the same size or will you make it smaller.
I loved your web pages. As soon as I save up, I am going to order that gorgeous watch.
Let's all start sending derogatory mail to the fur site Mary mentioned below. Just checked it out. What a load of sad individuals. I only hope the definition of Hell for them turns out to be an eternity of running scared from giant Chinchillas wearing human skin coats.
My new baby chin is 10 weeks old and I adopted her one week ago. She's great! Thanks for the heplful info.
THANK YA!! It's so nice to find websites where pet owners can share their questions and experiences. My first chin only lived for 2 days, we knew he was acting a bit lethargic in the pet store, but bought him anyway. The poor little guy just couldn't make it. The following week we bought ZIPPY, our energetic young male chin. We love him, and are just fascinated by his antics... what a cute little |
